What Is Best Way To Clean The Colon?
The colon is a very important part of the body in that it is
in part, responsible for the elimination of waste in the
form of feces. It functions in the capacity of reabsorption
of food nutrients and water. However, it is possible for the
colon to be unable to carry out its job effectively. When
this happens the colon develops what is called an impaction.
This is a situation where all or part of the feces that is
supposed to be passed out remains in the colon causing
constipation and inhibiting normal bowel movements, not to
mention other symptoms like bad breath, bloating, abdominal
cramps etc. This waste material that is residual in the
colon can result in the toxic poisoning of the system as a
result of the reabsorption of the waste materials. When this
occurs there is a need for colon cleansing which simply is
the cleaning of the large and small intestine of any waste
materials that has been lodged there as a result of the
bowel’s inability to expel it. Colon cleansing should be
regular event in any one’s life given the fact that we all
pass feces which can have remnants lodged in our bodies.
Therefore, you see the need for a regular colon cleansing exercise.
However, colon cleansing comes in various methods:
- Enemas
- Oxygen-based cleansers
- Colon hydrotherapy
- Herbal supplements
As with everything in life, these techniques have both
their pluses and minuses. So, we’ll take a brief look at
each of the methods and see how much benefit they each
give.
Enemas
Enemas have been known to have been in
existence for thousands if years. History has shown it was
used in Egypt as a form of treatment for digestive maladies
and disorders. Enemas vary -water, clay, and coffee-and so
do the results stemming from its use. Most times, enemas
just get rid of waste that is deposited and impacting the
lower colon. However, enemas cannot function as a melting
agent that will melt away all the waste materials. So its
use is in a way limited. It is very effective in rectum
emptying. The reason some people do not also like using
enemas is because they do not like the idea of inserting any
form of enema in the rectum.
Oxygen Based Cleansers
This is also known as organic colon cleansing. This method employs the use of
oxygen gas in the cleansing the colon of all toxic
substances. This is also known as oxygen therapy.. It
involves the increase of the current level of oxygen in the
blood and the cells. This gives them the ability to do their
jobs more effectively while also carrying out the detox
exercise that it is needed for.
According to recent surveys,
it is estimated that a sizable number of doctors and
physicians are employing the use of oxygenated water in the
treatment of their patients. It is also claimed to be used
in hydrotherapy which is one of the colon cleansing methods
discussed below. The oxygen treatment method is effective in improving the general
health of an individual and more importantly, gets rid of
all toxic substances resident in the colon.
The reason it can
successfully do this is by the liquefaction of the hard,
solid fecal impaction in the colon. The waste if not
eliminated has a tendency to cause a general health
breakdown as it hosts a myriad of harmful organisms whose
source is the waste that is generated from the foods we
consume. When the waste is eliminated, you can be sure that
the colon and the body in general will start its total
rebuilding into complete health.
The downside with this
method however, is that it is expensive and cannot be
readily afforded by those who do not have the resources. It
is also a process that takes sometime as it takes time to
melt the waste and then get it to pass out.You can try this
method if you are comfortable with it and feel you can take
that long before you can get results.
The results however
are long lasting and very evident as you’ll notice a general
improvement in your overall health and well being. You’ll
find that with the waste eliminated, you’ll feel a lot
easier, more alive and full of energy as you don’t have
toxic substances clogging your system.
Hydrotherapy
This is also popularly referred to as colonic irrigation. In this method, purified
water -sometimes mixed with minerals- is infused into an
individual through the anus to wash off all forms of waste
both loose and hard, clinging and floating from the walls of
the intestine and the colon. When the water is injected into
the person, it causes the colon muscles to contract
resulting in bowel movements.
When this is carried out by an
experienced personnel or professional, it is not harmful and
in fact has many benefits. But when carried out by an
inexperienced person, you are likely to end up developing
what is called a megacolon which really means the distending
of the colon to a larger size hence making it possible for
the colon to take in more fecal waste that it should normally
do.
When effectively carried out, you can be rest
assured you might not need any other for the next six months
to one year. However, if you insist in it being frequently
done, it would lead to an abuse of the whole process, result
in muscle damaging, and nerve damage. It can also very
expensive with costs of approximately $100 per treatment
or per session with the doctor.
Herbal Supplements & Probiotics
The use of herbs and probiotics is an excellent option due to their effectiveness and their convenience.
No appointments are necessary and no inconvenient procedures. You take your herbal remedy at the
suggested times and you are done.
Probiotics are are recommended to help the colon maintain a healthy environment.
This done by the preventing the growth of unfriendly bacteria that are in the
digestive system. This will improve the body's immune system and assists the
body to provide all the mineral substance sand vitamins that
it needs.
As for herbs, the selection of herbs recommended for colon health is fairly long.
That could lead to many pills, often 2-3 times a day to
get the required result. This is an incomplete list of some common herbs used for colon cleansing:
- Cascara Sagrada

- Olive Leaf Extract
- Thyme Oil Powder
- Garlic Extract 12:1

different brands to see which works best for you. Like most things in life your mileage will vary.
One product may make you feel icky straight while another will make the process easy.
Now given all of these methods, which of them is
best? None. Yep, your read this far to find out that there is no "best" colon cleanser. Each
has its pluses and minuses. No one solution is 100 complete or usable by everyone. If you can't use Hydrotherapy
then it can't really be the best then, at least for you that is.
